Ladder jumps in Minecraft parkour

A ladder jump ends on a ladder (or a vine) on a wall instead of on a block. Once you are in it, you climb by moving into the wall, and holding sneak stops you from falling. Since 1.14 you can also climb by holding jump.

Ladders are thin: 3 pixels deep since 1.9. Vines have no collision at all, so you can move right through them; the game catches you while you are inside the vine's block.

The movement described here is Java Edition's; Bedrock's differs in places.

How to do it

  1. Sneak at the end of the jump, as you reach the ladder, and keep holding sneak.
  2. Climb by moving into the wall, or, since 1.14, by holding jump.

Join play.parkour.gg on Java or Bedrock (how to join), then type a map's command to go straight to it. Where a map allows it, /fp practice lets you set your own checkpoints to train one jump; a finish in practice mode doesn't count.
